This page provides information and links to several EPA and federal government optimization tools applying to technologies, techniques or equipment that are commonly used for site remediation. These tools can help project teams evaluate and reduce the environmental footprint of cleanup activities at a site-specific level. Many of the tools consist of open-access software developed by federal agencies and partnering organizations to achieve greater efficiencies in energy, water and materials usage. At a national level, federal and state agencies collaborate in efforts to increasingly optimize performance and efficiency of site remediation.

Broader technical guidance and background information are available to help decision-makers consider and plan greener cleanup strategies to be implemented during design, construction and operation of site cleanup remedies.
